This spot is a true gem along Highway 75. Nestled in a small town, it offers a classic country vibe with amazing food at affordable prices. This was my second visit, and as always, the place was packed. Their shrimp and burgers are incredibly fresh. It feels like a scene from a movie—regular customers know each other, and the waitstaff greets everyone by name.

This is a great restaurant! The fried okra and shrimp were amazing, and the catfish was cooked to perfection. While it was a bit mild for my taste, it was clear that the chef knows their craft. The service was friendly and attentive, and the sweet tea was some of the best I’ve had in years.

Wow! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the kitchen team worked impressively fast while enjoying some great music. The rustic, old-country farm décor added to the charm. We tried catfish fingers, shrimp, grits with real cheese, baked beans, and chicken wings—all generously served with flavorful sauces. For $48, we got two shrimp and finger combo meals, a wings appetizer, water, and a beer. It was worth every penny!

During my time at Steven Foster’s Camp, I dined at Fat Belly’s twice. The place has a distinctive and welcoming ambiance. On my first visit, I tried the catfish dinner with cheese grits and coleslaw, which was absolutely delicious! During my second visit, I opted for the Fat Belly burger, and it did not disappoint—it truly lives up to its namesake. The draft beer was the perfect complement to the meal.

I adore my husband, and I had mentioned to him twice how much I wanted to eat at Fat Belly’s, a place I had visited twice before while working in the area. Both times, he kept driving past it. Finally, I suggested we stop here before heading to Big Shoal State Forest, and even my picky eater of a husband loved it!
